Record video that has no download button
Some players never hand over a file. FlowPick captures the video while you watch it and saves a normal MP4 or WebM file on your device — no upload, and no third-party downloader involved.
Recording starts from the FlowPick extension: open the video, click the FlowPick icon, then choose a recording mode. This page shows the live controls only when the extension opens it — the guide and questions below work either way.
Not a screen capture, unless you want one
MSE copies the media buffers the player already produces, so the quality matches the source and no pixel is re-encoded.
Screen recording as a fallback
MSR records the rendered video area together with its audio when a player cannot be captured through its buffers.
Everything stays on your device
Captured data moves only between the source tab, the extension and this recorder page. FlowPick keeps no copy and stores nothing on a server.
How to record
The steps match the mode you started with — switch tabs to read the other one.
Extension toolbar
Click the camera button
Recording Mode
MSR (Screen Recording)
Record a tab, window, or screen with the browser recorder.
MSE (Buffer Mode)
Capture media buffers while the video plays on the page.
- 1
Check that the video plays
Open the page, play the video for a few seconds to confirm picture and sound, then pause it.
- 2
Start the recording from the extension
Click the FlowPick icon, then the camera button in the popup toolbar. Select MSE (Buffer Mode) and click Start Recording.
- 3
Wait for the page to reload and play
FlowPick reloads the source tab and starts playback for you. The recorder shows Waiting for playback until the video is really playing.
- 4
Let it play to the end you want
Recording follows playback: pause the video and the recording pauses too. To finish sooner, turn on speed-up or drag the progress bar past the buffered part.
- 5
Stop and download
Click Stop and prepare files, check the preview, then click Download recording. Your browser saves the file as MP4.
Before you start
Do this
- Keep both tabs open — the source page and this recorder page. Closing either one ends the recording.
- Pick one resolution before you start, then leave the quality selector alone.
- To finish sooner, turn on playback speed-up or drag the progress bar past the buffered part.
- Need a break? Pause the video: the recording pauses with it instead of capturing a frozen picture.
Avoid this
- Do not switch video quality while recording. It splits the capture and only one part ends up in the file.
- Do not reload the source page or this page. Reloading the recorder discards everything captured so far.
- Do not expect paid streaming services (Netflix, Disney+ and similar) to work. Their media is encrypted, so the result will not play.
- Do not record very long videos in one go. The captured data is held in this tab's memory — record in parts and download each one.
This is an experimental feature — not every video can be captured successfully.
Common questions
Where your recording goes
Everything is processed locally in your browser. No data ever leaves your machine.

What to do with the recording
The result is an ordinary video file, so the browser tools below can trim it, pull out the audio track, or convert WebM to MP4.
