Introduction
FlowPick combines a media-detection browser extension with local web tools. Use it for media you created, have permission to save, or whose licence permits downloading. It does not bypass DRM, paywalls or access controls.
Choose a starting point
| What you have | Where to start | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| A webpage with a video or audio player | Install the extension, then play the media | Detection depends on the player, browser permissions and source access |
| A direct video or audio URL | Video Downloader or Audio Downloader | A webpage address is not necessarily a media URL |
| An M3U8 playlist | HLS Analyzer, then M3U8 Downloader | Check VOD/live state, tracks and encryption before downloading |
| An MPD manifest | MPD Analyzer, then DASH Downloader | Video and audio may be separate; DRM is not supported |
| A local file | Tools | Inspect, trim, convert or transcribe a supported file |
The current HLS/DASH download pages fetch media through the FlowPick extension request bridge, so the extension must be installed and enabled. The HLS/MPD analyzers can independently inspect manifests that permit browser access, or pasted manifest text. Successful analysis does not remove the download extension requirement.
Try a known source first
The downloaders and analyzers include a four-second test pattern with a generated tone. The files are hosted on this site and contain no third-party footage. Use the sample HLS playlist or sample DASH manifest to distinguish a tool or browser problem from restrictions imposed by another source. These small, unencrypted samples do not establish compatibility with a particular platform or large file.
Local processing and optional cloud transfer
Extension detection and the selected local media tools run on your device. Downloading still sends requests to the source server. Local AI tools also download their runtime and model on first use.
Cloud transfer is a separate choice: FlowPick infrastructure receives the submitted source and fetches and processes the media. It requires the account and quota shown in the interface. Opening this option does not stop a running local download. Personal login cookies and custom authorization headers are not forwarded to the cloud service. See the Privacy Policy.
Browsers and saving files
The extension is available for desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox, as well as Edge mobile. Available features on Edge mobile depend on the browser version and device. For large downloads or a queue that writes directly into a chosen directory, use desktop Chrome or Edge. Firefox can use supported tools, but does not provide the same directory-writing workflow. Safari is not currently supported by FlowPick.
Choose and authorize a save location when prompted. Do not close a local processing page before the file has been saved. Storage quotas, disk space, memory, codecs and the chosen output method affect the result; there is no universal file-size or constant-memory guarantee. See Browser Compatibility.
If a source fails
- Check whether it is a direct file, HLS playlist or DASH manifest.
- Open the original page and confirm that you are allowed to access and save the media. A working player does not guarantee that the URL works from another origin.
- Check for an expired URL, missing audio, CORS errors or DRM. The extension can preserve supported page context for authorized requests, but cannot guarantee access.
- Try the local sample. If it works, report the failing source type and error with sensitive URL parameters removed.
